Step 1: Collect your materials

Lightweight machine oil.

Step 2: Dust them off

Before the next step, you will need to make sure that your gas furnace is completely turned off and clean off the visible surfaces starting with the exterior, cover and blower. While cleaning the exteriors you can use the vacuum with the attachment to dust it off. Finally, unscrew the blower and clean off the blower with a bristled brush. A small brush and vacuum will be accountable for cleaning if you make sure the wires and counterweights are not disturbed.

Step 3: Inspect and replace

After cleaning the blower, you will need to clean the hot surface igniter, flame sensor, drive belt. You can now check the igniter/pilot if you encounter any dust blows them using a straw else leave it as in its place.

Finally, you are done with cleaning now it is time to lubricate or grease your blower with a few drops of oil. Make sure that the oil amount does not exceed more than the 3. If you feel it has enough oil then, do not use any oil.

Step 5: Inspect the furnace filter

The most important thing, you may have almost forgotten is the air filter. As you replace it within the interval of every 3 months, you can also do it when you are cleaning it. But make sure you are using the right filter as recommended.

Step 6: Check out the burners

Lastly, after sorting all the things up, you can confirm if your burners are working correctly if there are yellow flames you can re-clean them else you do not have to work upon it. Sometimes, it may be cautious so it is better to contact an expert.

Step 7: Get over your dampers

The last and the least adjust or rearrange your dampers in accordance with your personal preference and the environment.
